Kommando was tasked with creating an event which would support ScotRail’s ‘Roll With Us’ campaign to celebrate the freedom and enjoyment of rail travel.
ScotRail’s new campaign slogan ‘Roll With Us’ was embraced through a Guinness World Record breaking attempt which saw over 250 people swap shoes for skates to create one long continuous conga line for a period of 15 minutes.
Partners, Bauer Media Scotland, brought the record attempt to life with Radio Clyde’s DJ Knoxy both on the mic and leading the conga line. Kommando brand ambassadors distributed red Clyde 1 and ScotRail emblazoned t-shirts to participants producing a truly eye-catching element to the conga spectacle.
The attempt itself saw 254 skaters successfully create a ‘traditional’ continuous Conga line with leg lifting; lasting uninterrupted for 17 minutes, breaking the current record of 15 minutes.
Results At A Glance:
The campaign fulfilled the brief, achieving mass PR generation (including features in the Metro, The Herald, Evening Times and The Scotsman).
The Guinness World Record was authenticated and an astounding 254 people formed an unbroken line for 17 minutes, setting the world record for the longest chain of roller skaters!
