Smokefree Northwest

Smokefree Northwest is a region-wide initiative to tackle tobacco related health inequalities across the North West of England. They are a campaigning organisation committed to leading the debate for a tobacco free future for everyone in the North West.

9% of 8 – 15 year olds in the North West of England smoke. With nearly 700,000 in this age group, it equates to nearly 63,000 smoking (Health Survey for England). Smokefree Northwest briefed Kommando to implement a field marketing campaign facilitating data-capture and collecting names in support of a proposal to the Government to prevent children from becoming smokers.

Kommando devised a 3 month field marketing campaign in shopping centres, city centres and at other venues and events with high footfall in the North West.

Results At A Glance:

51,612 data-capture cards collected (target of 50,000).

Increased awareness of the dangers of smoking and the rates of children who smoke.
