Fake handbags, fake DVDs and now… fake Apple stores?!
Complete with the iconic Apple sign, apple products and point of sale material and even the standard employee uniform of blue t-shirts, you could be fooled into thinking this Apple store in Kunming, China was the real deal.
But, unable to believe Apple would ever open a store in this Chinese city, sharp-eyed blogger BirdAbroad took a closer look and discovered some flaws in the usually impeccable store…
Poorly made replicas of Apple’s winding stairs, “Apple Store” written alongside the inconic fruit signage and a dodgy paintjob were just some of the clues. A quick visit to Apple’s website confirmed that they only have a few stores in Beijing and Shanghai.
What's more, when they walked around the corner 2 more 'Apple' stores had mysteriously popped up from nowhere. They must buy a lot of Apple in Kunming...
